Multiple-Criteria Search

You can add additional elements to your query to further refine your cohort. In the One-Criterion Search: Categorical Variables example, the original query filtered for participants who had a Positive value for the variable Type I diabetes mellitus. We can add other variables to this.

Initial query based on the One Criterion Search example

Let’s say we want to also look at variables related to ketoacidosis by searching the word “ketoacidosis” and selecting the variable of interest. For this example, we will select the first variable listed as Metabolic ketoacidosis.

We can filter on Positive values for the Metabolic ketoacidosis variable. Now the query includes participants who have Positive values for both Type I diabetes mellitus and metabolic ketoacidosis.

The count of total participants now reflects the updated query. In this example, there are 107 participants that meet the specified criteria.
